The intent of yoga is not only to increase our strength and flexibility,
but also to promote health and vitality. The next layer is to
transform our behavior from coarse to gracious, and to transform even
our very thoughts, from chaos to beauty. Experience Max Strom’s
unique prana-flow class, with emphasis on emotional transformation.
Class will include a short talk, vinyasa-flow, non-dogmatic philosophy,
breathing, and meditation.
Learn to Breathe, to Heal Yourself
and Your Relationships
Saturday, 2-4pm (all levels - lecture & movement)
How does the way we breathe affect our stress level, quality of sleep,
depression, and even our relationships? Breath penetrates, breath
invigorates, and breath heals.
The class begins with a lecture and then moves into simple but profound
breathing exercises, and gentle movement. The effect of these done
in sequence can lead to profound release and calm. Other benefits may
include increased energy and mental clarity. Once people
have experienced the power of their own breath, they understand why it
is called Life force. Class will include a lecture, breathing
exercises; very gentle breath-initiated movement, and meditation.
Appropriate for all levels.
- Do not eat at least two hours before practice and eat lightly.
- Dress in loose fitting clothing.
- Arrive a few minutes early & leave your cell-phone in your car.
- Before class, inform Max of any injury or special condition.
- Breathing workshop is not advisable if pregnant.
Yoga and the Power of Intention: On and Beyond the Mat
Sunday, 9:30am-11:30pm (all levels - movement based)
Just as hydrogen and oxygen, depending on how they are mixed
together, can produce either fire or water, posture practice and
intention and breath depending on how they mixed together can produce
either “just exercise” or can revolutionize our lives. This flowing
workshop begins very gently and then builds momentum. At the apex of
heat and breath we move directly into a special sequence of postures,
which bring the mind into stillness and the body into a new state of
energy. This class is both challenging and very healing.
Vital Life - Better Sleep: Stress Management and Transformation
Sunday, 1-3pm (all levels - lecture & movement)
This workshop deals directly with the modern epidemic
of stress and anxiety in industrial societies across the world. Max
Strom will give you knowledge to take home with you to help you live
more at ease with improved sleep. Class includes lecture, gentle yoga
postures, breath work, self-inquiry, and meditation. Appropriate for all levels. Bring your mat and writing materials.
