Yoga
nidra, guided imagery and relaxation are powerful tools for supporting
healing, integration and bliss. This workshop focuses on expanding your
skills and repertoire through the experience and discussion of a
variety of creative themes and techniques.
We will:
- Review the meaning and purpose of deep relaxation
and guided imagery.
- Examine the relevance of deep relaxation and guided
imagery to yoga, and the differences between meditation, guided imagery
and guided relaxation.
- Experience a sampling of themes and techniques,
process them, and learn how to lead others using these methods.
- Learn how to write your own effective scripts for
guided experiences and recognize common mistakes and pitfalls.
"The
deep relaxation and guided
imagery experiences were all very powerful. I feel students
want and
desperately need this aspect of yoga. I feel very inspired to use
what
I leaned in my yoga classes. Julie has a wonderfully relaxed and
soothing voice and down-to-earth and friendly approach to her
teaching. I leaned a lot and had fun doing it."
-Yoga Teacher,
Ottawa, Canada
"I gained clarification of different
relaxation, meditation, guided imagery and yoga nidra techniques. I
enjoyed the experiences and have clarity on the different levels of
relaxation and guidance through the koshas. It is heartwarming and
encouraging to learn that hospitals are using this work for patients."
-Yoga Teacher, Whitefield, NH
"I liked the combination of lecture,
experience and processing – good learning process. ulie is
knowledgeable and is walking the talk! I’ve had personal
experience
with many of these techniques and read some research. I never felt
comfortable teaching or leading others. Now I do."
-Yoga Teacher/
Marketing Consultant, Warm Springs, VA
"This will enhance me as a person and
yoga teacher."
-Program Director, American Lung
Assn., Clifton Park, NY

solidifies my commitment to practicing yoga nidra. I now have more
resources which is great."
