Deva Parnell, E-RYT500+, founder and director of Discovery Yoga Center, is a certified professional level Kripalu Yoga teacher. She has been a yoga instructor and teacher-trainer since the 1970's and has trained more than 2500 yoga teachers. A Kripalu Center resident and senior program teacher (1983-1995), she developed many of Kripalu's core yoga programs and has been instrumental in the development of Kripalu Yoga and Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training. As Sadhana Acharya, she coordinated daily yoga practice and yoga education for the 350-member resident staff. After leaving her position as director, coordinator and curriculum developer of Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training, she began training teachers at Discovery Yoga Center through her own RYT200 program. She also developed the center's RYT300 Master Yoga Teacher Certification program, which includes a faculty of world-class teachers. Deva's detailed, intuitive teaching style reflects the depth of her personal practice and her many years of study and training in a variety of yoga traditions, both in the U.S. and in India.

"Deva is refreshing in her genuineness. She says it like it is and keeps the outlook based in reality...
An amazing teacher! She can get me into my body like nobody else."

"I wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate the wonderful and thorough training that you provide. At the beginning of the training I couldn't have imagined being prepared to teach a yoga class. It's amazing what we learned in five weeks! I also feel like you've really prepared and inspired us to further our yoga study."
-Lauren LaPointe, Yoga Teacher

Thank you for the great training I received in Fall of 2012. I have been teaching yoga for the past month and really love it. I couldn't have done this without my great teachers and mentors.  I am constantly learning and just so happy to be doing what I love.
-Michael Jaksa, Yoga Teacher

It was a "safe space" and also an "edge". Growth and opening could be felt by the minute!."
