A Three Part Series

This workshop is for yoga teachers and practitioners looking to add Yin Yoga to their practice and teaching. We will look at the history, physiology and principles behind a Yin practice, and discuss teaching and practicing techniques. All three modules include practice teaching opportunities for teachers.

Part 1:

Beginner Appropriate Yin Yoga
& Restorative Yin Yoga

What you will learn:

  • Introduction to Yin – The Release

  • Anatomy – Ligaments, Tendons, & Fascia

  • Beginner Posture Sequence

  • Restorative Posture Sequence

  • Appropriate Props

  • Appropriate Hold Times

  • Quieting the Mind for a Beginner

Learn how to teach a beginner Yin yoga sequence appropriate for all body types. Using teaching methods similar to those used by Bernie Clark, Mandy will demonstrate the use of props for each posture and the proper amount of time to be held. You’ll also learn about injuries and how to properly work with your students who may have limitations.

Part 2:

Advanced Yin Yoga
& Upper Body Yin

What you will learn:

  • Advanced Posture
    Sequence for the Spine

  • Advanced Posture
    Sequence for the
    Hips & Legs

  • Upper Body
    Posture Sequence

  • Appropriate Props

  • Appropriate Hold Times

Learn  advanced methods for teaching Yin classes, and the appropriate times to hold the postures. As Yin is typically focused on the lower body, we will explore using Yin holds for the upper body to help with upper body aches and injuries.

Part 3:

Yin Yang Yoga Flow -
Adding Warmth to the
Yin Practice - Wall Yin

What you will learn:

  • Yin Yang Yoga Flow
    Posture Sequence

  • Wall Yin Yoga

  • Appropriate
    Hold Times

  • Appropriate

Learn why warmth is good in a Yin Yang Yoga Flow practice and how to properly bring your students back into the Yin meditative state. You will also learn how to teach and entire Wall Yin Yoga sequence.


Guide To Yin Yoga by Bernie Clark (Green Yin Book).
The book will be used during the workshops, and is available in the Discovery Yoga shop.

Mandy Inabinett, ERYT500, is a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor trained at Discovery Yoga Center, Prenatal Yoga Instructor, Yin Yoga Instructor, previous studio owner and Reiki Level II practitioner. She is the owner of Downdogz Yoga and Equine Om Horse & Yoga Integration. Mandy's goals as a teacher is to provide a sacred space for students to practice. "I make it my first priority to allow you the time to heal and feel, bringing balance back into your life. Mandy has been practicing yoga since 2003 and feels it is necessary for our groth as spiritual beings. She teaches from love, and does her best to make everyone feel as if they are a part of her family.
