FOR Yoga teachers and teachers
in training
AND:
Professionals who work with pregnant women (childbirth educators,
midwives, doulas, nurses, doctors, massage
therapists) who have
an established yoga practice
PRENATAL
YOGA strengthens and makes more flexible the pregnant body. It
provides an opportunity for expectant mothers (and their partners), to
connect
to the ever changing body and the growing baby. Prenatal Yoga
is all about pregnancy and birth as a powerful, natural and spiritual
event.
The yoga teacher has the privilege of assisting in this journey.
Through teaching safe postures, labor breathing and deep
relaxation/visualization, we offer women an alternative to fear, drugs
and powerlessness. And teaching Prenatal Yoga is fun!!!
In this workshop you will learn:
- basic anatomy and physiology of
pregnancy and the process/stages of labor
- safe and effective postures and breath-work suitable
for labor
- deep visualizations and affirmations for a safe birth
- ways to
create community for young families
