Labor Day Weekend -
September 1-4, 2006
Friday 7-8:30pm,
Saturday &
Sunday 9am-5pm, Monday 9am-1pm
10 hours Techniques, 4
hours Philosophy, 2 hours Anatomy & Physiology, 2 hours Practicum
Although
yoga is usually thought of as primarily stretching, breathing and
relaxing, its greatest benefits are experienced through an integration
of four core methods - asana (body awareness), pranayama (breath
awareness), chakra meditation (energy awareness) and chanting
(heart-centered awareness). When these are consistently and skillfully
practiced together, an intelligent, inner energy awakens that can lead
us deep into our own spiritual core - the source of lasting happiness,
health and loving peace of mind.
Learning to strengthen and focus this core energy transforms negative
misperceptions and limiting beliefs into spacious inner freedom and
compassionate wisdom.
When
our life force is enriched
with this fresh, balanced energy our life purpose becomes insightful
and inspired. As we learn to skillfully integrate these safe yet
powerful yogic methods, body, mind and emotions are rebalanced, healing
on all levels is accelerated, and a profound sense of personal
well-being is realized.
In this seminar we will explore how to actualize these possibilities
through :
- Energy
anatomy of the chakras - how to use specific asanas, breath techniques
and visualizations to optimize our energy potential
- Essential
anatomy of the structural core - applied
to specific muscular, breath and visualization techniques to support
optimal alignment, stability and safe movement
- A
core-based asana technique that emphasizes relaxed stability, fluid
movement, and true self awareness
- Excerpts
from yogic texts to use as guidelines for deeper practice and daily
life application of the
four core methods
- Simple
yet effective mantras to use with confidence in enhancing strength,
balance and relaxation in daily life situations
